"Pressing pause for now"

I wanted to let you know that I’m pressing pause on The Messy Middle for a little while.

I’m in the middle of a big project, and like most messy middles, it’s full of ups and downs. The downs, if I’m honest, have stirred up that familiar voice that says, “You’re not good enough for this.” When that voice gets loud, it’s hard to write about leadership and growth while feeling like a fraud myself.

Don’t worry, I’ve got this. I just need to use the time I’d normally spend writing The Messy Middle to reshape my own resilience to the pressures that come with leading a large software project.

Writing this newsletter has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done. Your replies, reflections, and encouragement have meant a lot. Thank you for that.

I’ll be back, as soon as I can, with a few more stories from the messy middle itself.
